2. Nigerians attack the Nigerian Embassy in Indonesia, and destroy properties.

Barely seven days after parts of the residential building in the Nigerian embassy was destroyed in Ghana, Nigerians protesting the alleged discrimination and violation of their human rights by Indonesian immigration officials, stormed the Nigerian embassy in Indonesia, and vandalized some properties belonging to the Nigerian government.

In a video clip that was obtained by SharaRepoters, some persons believed to be Nigerians were spotted carrying placards with various inscriptions.

They were heard chanting "Nigeria is not helping us in this country. We don’t have an Embassy. We no go 'gree'."

Recall that a 41-year-old Nigerian fell from a nine-storey building while trying to escape from Indonesian immigration officers.

His fall, however, sparked protest amongst Nigerians, leading to the destruction and vandalisation of the country’s properties in the embassy.

While reacting to the act, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, on his twitter account, condemned the act, noting that those involved in the destruction of the country’s properties would be caught and dealt with.

In his words, Onyeama wrote; "Absolutely deplorable and disgraceful criminal behaviour by Nigerian hooligans who without justification attacked the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia today.

Every effort will be made to identify them and see they are severely punished. Totally unacceptable behavior."

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has said that it's Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu never condemned Christianity but only attacked those they called fake pastors and men of God in Nigeria, who refused to boldly speak up against the incessant and state sponsored killings and of Christians in Nigeria.

According to the IPOB, it said; "Kanu’s condemnation was for religious leaders who deliberately kept quiet while Christians are killed in Nigeria, saying that does not amount to condemnation of Christianity, disrespect to Islam or any other religious body.

He only condemned the evil of extermination of a particular religious group through state sponsored terrorism.

Our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in his life, never condemned Christianity because he was raised in a Christian home by Christian parents and will never do such. He has respect for Christianity, Islam and other faith based religions around the world."

4. Ajimobi never wanted APC appointment, he was persuaded - Spokesman says.

The Spokesman for the late Abiola Ajimobi says his boss had planned to retire from politics after completing his eight-year tenure as governor of Oyo State last year.

The Spokesman, Bolaji Tunji, said in his tribute on Facebook, that Ajimobi told his staff that he didn’t want to take up the appointment as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but he had to as an obligation.

Tunji wrote, “He never wanted anything else after the general election. He only wanted to take a long, due rest after serving for eight years without break. But another position was thrust on him. He never solicited for it and he did not want. But they convinced him to accept.

I know because, in his usual forthrightness, he narrated how it happened. He took the position because he felt it would benefit his people. ‘I have done my bit. There is nothing I set out to achieve that I did not, I cannot be governor again, but I cannot leave you people’ he would say."

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has said that it will not reopen orientation camps across te country until it is safe to do so.

The NYSC, in a statement on Thursday by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, denied the reports that it was planning to open the camps as false

She said, “To put issues in proper perspective, it is appropriate to state that the National Youth Service Corps will only return to the orientation camps when it is very safe to do so, in view of the danger posed by COVID–19 pandemic.

The scheme places very high premium on the lives of corps members, camp officials and other stakeholders which was the key reason it suspended 2020 Batch 'A' Stream 1 orientation programme in March this year."

The NYSC spokesperson also added that even when it had been established that it was safe to open the camps, the corps would act when it had received the nod of the Federal Government.

Accordingly, corps members and prospective corps members are advised to glean information concerning the scheme only from NYSC official sources, both the social and mainstream media," she said.
