How Giadom Was Disgraced Out of NEC Meeting After APC Dissolved its NWC - Insider Reveals

What initially appeared to be a triumph for Victor Giadom on Thursday, June 26, clad to be a massive blow on his political hope as All Progressive Congress (APC)'s National Executive Council meeting ended on a shocking dramatic note.

Giadom had prided himself the apple-eye of the ruling party's top echelon after imposing himself as the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) despite apparent insistence by the Comrade Adams Ohiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) members. After receiving the backing of Mr President to summon APC meeting, little did Giadom know that he was digging his own political grave.

And at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which was attended by the president, the leaders of the National Assembly, governors and some top party chieftains, All Progressive Congress (APC) dissolved its National Working Committee (NWC) amid crisis threatening to implode.

This drastic decision of the party came on the heels of recommendations made by the president during a crucial meeting at the State House. in place of the NWC, the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) announced the composition of a caretaker committee to oversee a brand new national convention. The said committee is to be chaired by the governor of Yobe state, Alhaji Mai Bala Muni.

Giadom was left astonished by the decision and every one attempts to speak after the meeting was vehemently met with objection, The Nation reports. According to an internal source, the Rivers state-born politician wanted to speak but he was stopped from doing so by the speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila. Gbajabiamila was said to have told Giadom that he has ceased to be acting chairman of the party and he must not speak on matters concerning the party any longer.

Meanwhile, it earlier reported that Following the dissolution of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari has advised members to withdraw all pending litigations against one other.

It was gathers that President Muhammadu Buhari during a statement issued on Thursday, June 25, by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, asked the aggrieved members to accept internal conciliation, warning that the mutating disagreements could lead on to self-destruction with dire consequences.

President Muhammadu Buhari, in his remarks at the emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of the party prevailed a virtual platform, said the gains of the party could be reversed as conflicts overshadow the primary objective of service to the people, urging members to refocus on the larger picture and place more emphasis on uniting the party.

'Fellow party members, this can be a awfully crucial moment in the life of our party and it's with a deep sense of concern that I stand before you today to speak as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria who has been elected on the platform of our great party - the All Progressives Congress (APC).

'The issues currently confronting our party at this point are such that should worry every party member. At the moment, our great party is faced with internal wrangling; there are on-going litigations amongst some party members and that we cannot clearly ascertain the status of certain National Working Committee (NWC) members,' the statement read in part.

The president Muhammadu Buhari expressed worry over the shifting loyalty within the party and inconsistency in leadership, which had opened the governing party to mockery. The emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting adopted all the recommendations by President Buhari, and appointed the Governor of Yobe State, Mallam Mai Buni, as caretaker National chairman, while Senator John Akpanudoede was appointed as caretaker national secretary.
